@slspacecowboys, formerly @sugarlandskeeters, is the official TikTok account of the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros.

I built the account from the ground up while I was a summer intern, taking the reins on a new account following the platform's boom. I managed the account on my own for 2.5 months, with the video intern contributing higher-quality edits to complement the content. The focus was on slowly building trust and establishing the foundations of what a successful minor league TikTok account could look like. Content centred around clipping game footage, showcasing the fan experience and the grounds, and jumping on trends that were relevant at the time. It was also the franchise's first year as a Minor League affiliate, which made it an exciting time to be building their presence somewhere new. COVID restrictions limited player access, but rather than seeing that as a barrier, the goal was to bring the matchday atmosphere to life and find the personality of the account for a TikTok audience.
